Vision

Well that video in itself was interesting and inspirational in a sense. Although it was really corny and entertaining watching that guy throw some starfish into the ocean, it did have a nice underlying message. That message was that you are the only one that is in control of your own future. If you want something in life you cannot wait for it to fall into your lap, you have to go out there and take care of it yourself. So some things that I would like to take care of in my own life are to have a wife and kids. Starting a family is something that is important to me. Another goal which is more short term is to graduate from Baruch. I would like to find a job in which I am able to live comfortably off of. Finally a goal that I plan to apply some of the lessons learned from the video to is to become a police officer. I decided around a year ago or so that I would like to become a police officer. I am going to school for finance but it isn't really for me but since I am already so close to finishing I want to finish it out and can use that degree as sort of a backup. However I did sign up for the Suffolk County Police Officer exam and plan on taking the written part of it in June. To accomplish that goal I plan on studying really hard for it and just trying to do the best I can. When other police exams become available I plan on taking those as well. I know if I stay focused that goal or vision can become a reality.

  1. Do not ever forget..Everything is possible!!I wish you good luck on the PO exam and I hope one day you will do what you really want. It is never late to figure out what is the good path to take. My sister finished college, graduate school and then she realized she wants to do totaly something else. The problem is that is not easy to decide what we want to be by studyng the lectures, we would need to first explore that field.

  2. I think it's a great idea that you are continuing your studies at Baruch. Becoming a PO is very competitive these days and its good to have more than one option. The great thing about finance is that its broad enough that you can pick and choose what you want to do. Good Luck!

  3. I think what you are doing is very courageous and great! For me, I would be a little afraid of my future if I no longer was interested in the major I studied. But I guess, as long as you are passionate about something, why not go for it. Life's short, and we need to enjoy it, do what we love to do and do what is meaningful for us. You'll get your diploma, which is very important these days, and onto your next vision. I wish you all the best in becoming a Police Officer!

  4. Your goals are definitely achievable. Starting a family is very important to me as well and having a successful job to support them is equally important. I completely support your goals and wish you the best of luck as a police officer! you can always pursue finance at a later point in your life if you dont have much interest in it now...that will be there forever.
