Management Poem

Oh this management class has had its ups and downs
From first learning we had to blog which gave me such a frown

But as the class moved on it gave me quite a shock
When I realized this class might actually rock

We fought and argued over what to do with our test
And tried to survive in the tundra doing our very best

Now I still don't know what vision has to do with throwing shells in the sea
But I do know that my DISC type is type a D

We cracked some eggs and played with Legos
And now here I am trying to write a poem before its time to go

Its the end of the class and poetry really isn't my art
But at least the blog seemed to touch some peoples heart

Professor Kurpis did a good job teaching us management
Now it is something that is not too far out of my element

The way we blog

When I first started this class I thought it was going to be an average run of the mill lecture course with lots of reading from the powerpoint and falling asleep. Then when I heard that we were going to be doing a blog I thought that it was the most ridiculous thing ever like what is there in management that I will be able to blog about. Boy was I wrong. Once this class started and we started doing activities and we started doing the blog assignments I started to realize how wrong I had been when the class first started. With a class as big as ours it is sometimes hard to get your voice heard if you think you have something to say or contribute and you can kind of get over it. But then when I had to go home and write about what we did in class and how that activity relates to management etc. it was the perfect opportunity to say what I thought necessary. It also definitely allowed the class to kind of become more friendly with each other having the blogs available.Normally a few kids in the class will talk to each other but for the most part everyone keeps to themselves. However since we had the blog and we had to read and comment on the ways other people felt I feel like it allowed everyone to get to know eachother a little better and it made things in class a little more friendly and easygoing. I also think that having other people's blogs to read from allowed me to see a lot of different opinions and points of view. It wasn't just the people that spoke in class that you knew how they felt but the quiet kid next to you has a great point about the topic that you didn't think of. Or I found out similarities in the way we think or things I have in common like with Chris how we are both looking to become police officers.
Overall it was a very easy way to control 20% of my grade without having to take a test and it was also a pretty fun way of doing so. It was definitely a learning experience that I enjoyed. Whether or not I will continue to blog once this class is over is up in the air. While I did enjoy it I don't know if I would know what to blog about without the assignments being given to us. But hey you never know I guess.
